Each Talking to you post is a little bit of myself. A bread crumb of my existence. An insight into why I write what I write, and where it comes from. My hope is to openly express, as best as I can, through poetry and photography my “life feelings”. These posts are as sporadic as I am, so there will be links to each of them below. Keeping them all in one place.
I would love for you to take my writings whether or not you are in a similar situation, and see that every feeling born from grief/life has a place. And It’s Ok.
I recently came across a book, completely by chance. The individual who recommended it, unaware, I am so grateful. You never really know when or by whom you are being heard. It’s so important to speak up. People can always choose to ignore you or hear you.
The Smell of Rain on Dust, by Martin Prechtel is beautifully written, and no matter what your faith, it’s a simple message that speaks to everyone…here’s a short excerpt.
“Grief is praise of those we have lost…To not grieve is a violence to the Divine and our own hearts and especially to the dead. If we do not grieve what we miss, we are not praising what we love. If we do not praise whom we miss, we are ourselves in some way dead. So grief and praise make us alive (p. 36-37).”
Martin Prechtel, The Smell of Rain on Dust
Below is the guide to all of my Talking to you posts…if you’re interested. I will Keep this post updated, along with continually posting them on my blog.

I first read your posts and then, well, really justnow, your «about». Without knowing anything of your intentions on writing this blog I felt somehow what lay beyond and underneath. Great sensitiveness and a subtle care for words. Thank you for mentioning the book by Martin Prechtel. I think I will get it soon. Thank you again 🙂

Every feeling is a true expression of our soul. It is very difficult to show oneself, poetry is a means of getting to know each other and making oneself known. Poetry is a gift

Well, I’m glad I didn’t give up, found it. That was…well…from the lyrics to the music to his intensity singing it…it made me stop for a moment. I love it when life just throws something in your path and makes you pull over. Thank you for sharing this with me…and to be honest…I’m glad the lyrics you were talking about didn’t come from Eminem ;).

I figured that one out…about you thinking of me hearing Eminem on a constant basis.. Apart from that I´m glad you enjoyed the video and I myself get a lot of inspiration from these writer singers.

Hey, there’s a time and a place for everything, including Eminem. Music seems to always be there when everything else is not. It’s kind of like an added bonus to writing poetry, boy I wish I could make music. Oh well, at least I can experience it. Thank you so much for sharing :).

Being so full of grief for the past few years I absolutely loved that quotation.

I am so sorry for your losses. After reading your about me page, I could feel the pain that resides ♥️. Also, I grew up on Dr Suess and Shel Silverstein, ultimately two of my favorites.
It makes my heart smile that you loved the quote, the book helped me give myself permission to finally feel the grief I’d been carrying and didn’t know what to do with for 28 years. It has been a heavy burden to deal with, but I’m dealing. I hope you are too. And writing is something that has drawn me back in, to let it all out.
I hope this finds you well, and thank you for the follow. I look forward to reading your blog as well 😊
