I’ve wished
I could simply tell you
Just how lamented
You’ve left me
It hasn’t gotten easier
As the meter ticked
The waves
Were measured
Time has decided to
Bring me here
Pounding this sea wall
Washing, washing
Me away
Your ignorance,
Not a gleeful bliss,
But actual ignore-ence
Helped
Suppress and create
This land
I exist in
There is nothing
For you here
Nothing
For anybody but me
It’s my home
I’ll live here, until.
Soaking up
All the pain
Because it is too much
For most anyone
I will leave you alone
As your devices pulse
But know
I will be here
Like her
A ghost In your heart
I like “ignore-ence”. Seems like something Joyce might’ve come up with…

Hi there, thanks a ton! I’m at a loss for who Joyce is? I’ve wracked my brain, looked back through your posts…is it staring me in the face 🙃?!

Oddly enough, Joyce Kilmer, the poet who wrote “Trees”, was also a man…

You are so full of knowledge! Thank you for sharing it with me today 😊. Not sure I’ve read that poem until today, I like his outlook.

I love this “A ghost In your heart”. I’m not sure I have heard such a thing before. Well, maybe, but I don’t recall, and it is such a powerful image!
