I feel most at home, alone amongst the trees.
My mind wonders to thinking about life, and all that it is.
Today I wonder where my mom felt most at home.
Would she like to join me in silence listening to the leaves chatter in the wind.
Would she want me to keep the precious gift of purity the solitude brings.
It is where I go to think about her.
To let the words slip out between my teeth and disappear into the branches.
Feeling the freedom of acceptance needed from no one, allows the heaviness to slip away peacefully.
At its own pace, as the quiet blackens the rest.
For a moment frozen in time, I am free.
