Your unconcern

Wrapped me in twine.

I could not move

For so long

I stood there

Waiting

Right next to you

Wasting the time

I’d been given

Too stupefied

To take that step

Away.

On this boat

Afraid to sink

Thinking…

Jumping

I would surely drown.
