Normal sucked me in, then spit me out.
It tempted me
With all its glory,
It’s fun,
And careless temper.
The way it looked at me,
And let me fall asleep at night.
It took away my dreams.
And everything in between.
Then normal hit me square in the face
What had happened,
What it did,
The temptation,
The lure,
The bait and switch.
I’d been duped
Into thinking my life was normal.
How I’d always wanted it to be.
